Meet Kathy

I founded Vivid Experiences because I believe travel can do much more than give you a break from everyday life. It can introduce you to new places and people, challenge you to try something different, and give you experiences that stay with you long after you return home.

My own connection to travel started early. When I was 12, I created a complete South American itinerary for a social studies project, brochures and all. I was already curious about the world and eager to see more of it. I just didn’t know yet how important travel would eventually become in my life.

How Travel Changed My Perspective

As I approached my 40th birthday, I found myself thinking about what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like. I had spent years focused on work, family, friends, and the people around me. It was time to rediscover some of the things that excited and inspired me.

One of those things was seeing the world.

For my 40th birthday, I booked a solo group tour to Italy without knowing anyone else on the trip. It was a big leap outside my comfort zone, and it changed my perspective on travel and on myself. I came home more confident, more curious, and ready to see where I could go next.

Since then, I’ve traveled to 21 countries across four continents. Each trip has introduced me to new cultures, people, foods, traditions, and experiences, while teaching me a little more about what makes travel meaningful.

Why I Started Vivid Experiences

I also began noticing how many people wanted to travel more but kept putting it off. Some weren’t sure where to begin. Others were overwhelmed by all the choices and hours of research. And some simply didn’t have the time to plan the kind of trip they really wanted.

That’s where I can help.

Today, I use my travel experience, curiosity, and planning expertise to help individuals, couples, families, groups, and teams explore more of the world with confidence. I’ll help you sort through the possibilities, find experiences that fit you, and take care of the details that can make planning a trip feel like another job.
